I wonder sometimes

As I looked through my poem stash, I found a poem I wrote a few years ago in realization that as we grow up we become more negative. Felt like posting it.

I wonder sometimes (c)

I wonder sometimes
Why the sky is blue
The rooster crows in the morning
The air is fresh and new

I wonder sometimes
Why the good guys lose
Life is so unfair
Negativity is always on the news

I wonder sometimes
Why the leaves change with the seasons
Rabbits live in holes
The rain would come for no reason

I wonder sometimes
Why I’m judged by my color
The cheaters make A’s
We don’t love one another

I wonder sometimes
Why water is wet
Crackers are dry
Why I didn’t get a pet

I wonder sometimes
Why are there casts in the world
People only love money
Someone kidnapped that girl

I wonder sometimes
Why 1+1= two
Burps are so funny
Some kids eat glue

I wonder sometimes
My vote is said to count
There are only crooked politicians
Life is a tiresome mount

I wonder sometimes
Why my childlike questions ended and my adult questions began
Cause now that I have grown my negative questions won't end
